I have always been interested in the novelty of different types of displays. There is a relationship between the way merchandise is displayed and the cost. There is also the visual content. The above picture is part of a display of candy. There were dozens of these glass containers, each with a different gooey thing.

This photo and the next graphically demonstrate the different ways that the same merchandise can be displayed. The one above was taken at a market on 6th Avenue and 15th Street. The whole store had mirrors, great lighting and wonderful displays. I went in to take this picture and ended up buying an apple.

On the next block there was a fruit and vegetable store. This was the display. Same stuff-- garlic, tomatoes, onions. Prices were probably cheaper but....

Picture frames. Hundreds of frames. There were literally three walls of them. It looked wonderful. I found myself wondering how I would choose one. Does the proprietor select one after you describe your needs? or do you wander until you came across something.

This is a bike store on 7th Avenue in the village. The visual effect was wonderful. Rows of wheels attached to the colorful frames. I loved the orderliness of this display.

This photo was taken in an "Antique Store" in Milford, PA. The total blandness and "piled on-ness", with the hanging tags reminded me of a bunch of puppies in a pet store, all the same, each one crying out, me, me, me.

Fiona and I were attending an event at BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). They were installing a new large sign to advertise the coming events. I was taken by the total randomness of the display.

This is another shot of the food store in the second frame. The store was SO inviting.

There is a magazine store on Columbus Ave. and 68th Street. These nine magazines were in the window. This speaks for itself.

Fairway Market, Broadway and 74th Street. "Like no other market in the world. " The following four pictures were taken in the produce department. I took about two dozen photos and couldn't get below four to include.

I took this in St. John in the US Virgin Islands. Can you figure it out? Rotate 90° right?

Someone spent a lot of time on this. Probably too much stuff crammed onto the table, but colorful.

This is a stack of orange bowls.

I think I took this on St. Vincent. There were rows of "Hot Sauce." We bought one that was supposedly "not too hot." Yeah sure!!!
