The pictures in this gallery were taken over a 4 year period. The one above was taken on the day after 9/11. As I was walking up Broadway, all the stores were closed and everyone was in a state of shock. I was struck by the apparent non-concern that these men displayed to the events that were playing out around them.

I came across this sidewalk drawing on Broadway and 68 st. Usually they are done for money and I arrived to late to see the artist or someone was just having a good time??

This guy showed up in my office to repair the phones. To say he was "hung" is an understatement.

One of my employees, Mila, loves to grow things. She has 10 or 15 plants scattered around the shop with a grouping of 6 orchids near one window. This particular plant had a dozen flowers. each one as beautiful as this. It is about 2" across.

I took this picture while waiting for Fiona at the Garrison station of Metro North railroad. The buildings in the background, actually across the Hudson River, are part of the West Point Military Academy. There is a broken down boat basin there. I can't imagine what these two perfectly reconstructed boats were doing there. They were spotless, both inside and out.

You never know when a sunroof will come in handy. I was waiting for an appointment on West 39th street when this guy comes out of a carpet store, drops the roll on the floor, gets in the car, opens the sunroof, locks the car, and disappears. Too good to pass up...

Up until last year this was the view from my dining room. The complex of buildings you see are Lincoln Center. The low dark mass of buildings in the foreground have since been replaced with a 30?? story building. We have been left with a view of everything to the right of the first 4 windows of Avery Fisher Hall. Oh well, It was great while it lasted.

We went to the Big Apple Circus, as we do every Christmas and they had this juggler. Taking pictures in the dark created this dynamic picture. He was un-$%#@^-believable

I love this shot. Lincoln Center in the background, vendor picking his teeth. What more can you want???

This one needs no comment.

This is Communism in action. This crew gets the boat and fuel from the government. They then go fishing. Upon their return they give the government all the fish and the government. pays them for their time. Of course, if they should trade some fish for other things, like canned goods or clothes, well no harm done.

I was on the Long Island Expressway, often called the worlds longest parking lot, going about 3.2 MPH when I came across this overhead traffic sign. I got out my camera and took this picture to a chorus of horns. You can't always believe what you read.

It was raining out. Something about the way the single window was lit up and two people having dinner, attracted my attention. Rain spattered window and long hand held exposure added to the mystery of it.

I took this picture from the porch of my house on Culvers lake in New Jersey. It was in the early spring. The lake had just melted and the air was warm and still. This confluence of conditions almost never happens, at least on weekends. The sense of peace and quiet was overwhelming.

This is nearly the most painful picture I have ever taken. I was wandering around Central Park in a snowstorm when I came across this woman sitting on the bench. She must have been there quite a while. The truth is, I can't imagine the condition of her life.
